Wishes & More Makes Swimmer Abbey Cornelius' Dreams a Reality
It?s always been Abbey Cornelius? dream to swim in college at a program like Stanford University?s. But a diagnosis of Stage 2 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma about a year ago threatened that dream. That?s why when she met with volunteers for Wishes & More ? a Minnesota-based organization that grants wishes to children with terminal and life-threatening illnesses ? a trip to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs was at the top of her list.

New Medley Rule Change to Go Into Effect Sept. 21
During the July 21st FINA Swimming Technical Congress in Budapest, Hungary, the Congress adopted a change to medley swimming rules regarding required body position. For the freestyle distance, the change permits the swimmer to be past vertical towards the back when executing a turn - including after the feet have left the wall. The rule requires that the swimmer?s body must return to the breast before any kick or stroke.
